Born in Montreal, Carrie Haber is a writer, filmmaker and musician.

Carrie works in both documentary and animation studios at the National Film Board of Canada. She directed the feature-length documentary, Pig Farm which considers the state of 'Gypsiness' among Roma in post-Communist Czech society. She is also an editor, camerawoman and story consultant, having worked on over twenty NFB productions.

Her commitment to community leadership has brought her to produce a 5-day, international media arts festival profiling women artists and to develop programming in radio technology and journalism for Montreal’s under-privileged youth. She is founder of Marbelus Arts Foundation, a non-profit corporation established to disseminate projects about social issues in the artistic and cultural milieux. Marbelus' festival projects include the executive co-producion of Pop Montreal and the MiMi Awards, and curating art exhibits for Osheaga Music and Arts Festival.

Carrie has worked for the international aid agency, Action Contre la Faim (Action Against Hunger) as a Communications Consultant. She funded her feature-length Human Rights' documentary by working in Prague as a graphic artist, user interface designer and project manager.

Carrie is also an award-winning fiction writer and her stories have been dramatized by CBC Radio, and anthologized in collections in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.
